You’ll need the right products to clean your rubber or carpet floor mats: 

How to Clean Rubber Floor Mats:

  • Vacuum 
  • Rubber floor mat cleaner, 
  • A stiff bristle brush,
  • Hose or bucket of water, 
  • Soft microfiber towel
  • A spot to hang your mats

How to Clean Carpet Floor Mats: 

  • Vacuum
  • Carpet floor mat cleaner, 
  • Brush
  • Hose or bucket of water, 
  • Wet vac if available, 
  • A spot to hang your mats

How to Clean Rubber Floor Mats

  • Remove the rubber floor mats from your car to prevent water damage to your interior. 
  • Shake out the mats to remove debris and loose dirt. 
  • Rinse off the mats with water to loosen the rest of the dirt.
  • Apply a rubber cleaner to the mats and scrub the mats with a soft bristle brush to remove the buildup of dirt. 
  • Rinse off the rubber cleaner. 
  • Hang up the mats to dry or dry them with a microfiber towel. Make sure they are completely dry before returning them to your car. 

How to Clean Carpet Floor Mats

  • First, remove the carpet floor mats from your car and shake them out. 
  • Vacuum the floor mats to remove the dirt and debris.
  • Whack the floor mats against a hard surface to remove the smaller particles that remain.
  • Apply a carpet cleaner to your floor mats and follow the directions on the bottle. 
  • Scrub the mats with a brush to remove ground-in dirt and debris. 
  • Rinse the mats. 
  • If you own a wet vac, vacuum the mats for a deep clean 
  • Hang your mats to dry. Make sure they are completely dry before returning them to the vehicle.
